Yellow Springs Men's Basketball vs. Bethel

The YS High School men's basketball team played an exciting game against Bethel on Sat. Feb. 16th.  YS held the lead most of the first quarter but fell behind soon after.  Wes Moultrie got into foul trouble and Roland Newsome (conference top scorer) suffered a run of off mark shooting.  Down 43-60 with some 2+ minutes left the  Bulldogs fought on.  A last minute comeback attempt by the Bulldogs was courageous and caused Bethel to keep their starters on the court.  A 3 point basket by PJ Russell with 25 seconds left and another 3 point score by Roland Newsome with 3 sec left brought the score to 59-64.  The Bulldogs were forced to foul to get the ball back and Bethel made two free throws  With some new players in for Yellow Springs the time ran out and the score was 59-66 giving Bethel the win. Seniors Robbie Jones, Levi Perry and PJ Russell played a strong game keeping up with the speed of the opponent.  Eric Lawhorn and Jared Scarfpin also did some hard work for the team.
